Ruckman Engineering, PLC, designed the structure for a new 180,000 sq ft manufacturing facility for Trex. The exterior walls consist of precast/pre-stressed concrete panels while the roof is constructed with structural steel. The roof supports an equipment platform that is more than 400 feet long that holds more than 40 pieces of manufacturing related equipment. Inside, the building provides a 30-feet clear height in the manufacturing area and a two-story office area on the east side.

Our office designed several bridge crane runways, including the structural steel supports and foundation system, for Rubbermaid. The cranes vary from 5 to 35 tons. The runways and foundations are designed to support the vertical, lateral, and longitudinal loads from the bridge cranes.

This complex totaling more than 300,000 sq. ft. consisted of several buildings, including raw material storage, charging, offices, workshop, packaging, oven building, and a warehouse. The furnace building is a 9-story structure consisting of structural steel on pile foundations. The project also included smokestacks, a QA/QC lab, a utility building, a recycling building, a binder building, and a guard house. Ruckman Engineering, PLC, was responsible for inspecting all the structures and consulting on the relevant building codes.
